Learn Italian conditional and listen to italian songs

Posted by Monica Corrias on September 16, 2007

Ciao. Last week at school a student had a problem on Italian “Condizionale presente“.

So I wrote this post for him and for you all (do you remember? I must use Italian language in my classes at school, but here I can use a little bit English)

Naturally, as usual, I suggest you to listen to these 2 songs that use the Italian “Condizionale presente”: “Vorrei incontrarti fra cent’anni” by Ron and “Vorrei cantare come Biagio Antonacci” by S. Cristicchi .

You will read the complete lesson on conditional after my short holiday 🙂

Ciao e buono studio!

Please, do not touch the Colosseum!

Posted by Monica Corrias on September 16, 2007

Please, do not touch the Colosseum!

The Colosseum has resisted against the centuries, but now it runs the risk to fall into ruin because of stupidity!
Vandals hidden between the tourists take pieces of marble away from Colosseum or write their names and stupid sentences on its ancient stones!
Please, save this patrimony of the world! Guard against vandalism and tell your friends to do the same. Also tell them: “don’t take such kind of souvenirs and don’t write on the Colosseum: it is a criminal action against culture and history“.
Thanks a lot!

Look at these links in Italian language, there are a lot of information and interesting photos:

The “Colosseo” is one of the 3 prestigious monuments that – from 28th untill 30th September – will host 9 lessons given by historians (free entrance). The other two are “Campidoglio” and “Castel Sant’Angelo”.

Il 15 Settembre ci sarà l’ “MTV Day” l’evento per il “compleanno” dei 10 anni di MTV Italia sarà a Roma (Piazza San Giovanni) e a Milano (Piazza Duomo) simultaneamente.
L’ingresso è gratuito (Admission is free) e naturalmente sarà possibile seguirlo in streaming sul sito http://www.mtv.it/mtvday

La gara partirà a mezzanotte (at Midnight) e si terrà nella magica atmosfera della Roma notturna [= the competition will take place in the magical atmosphere of nocturnal Rome].

Free cultural event in Rome: “La notte Bianca”

Posted by Monica Corrias on September 2, 2007

Notte Bianca - Roma 2007

E’ arrivato settembre!
Enjoy September, my favorite month!
There are still five days before the cultural event “La notte bianca” (“the white night”).

Each year between the end of the summer and the beginning of autumn Rome – like other European capitals – has its “Notte Bianca”, a cultural event with a cosmopolitan atmosphere, lasting – to tell the truth – more than a whole night: actually it starts on 7th September in the evening (“waiting for la notte bianca”) and ends on 9th early in the morning.

This event with no admission charge, returns with its energy; and you can enjoy the free museums -during the night-, streets and the squares full of music and activity, from the centre to the suburbs.

Look at the official web site and enjoy Rome and free music!

If you want to receive a newsletter in English, about Rome’s event send an empty e-mail with the subject “English” to:  happeningcity@romaturismo.com

Ma se la preferisci in italiano, manda una e-mail vuota con oggetto “Iscrizione” a:  happeningcity@romaturismo.com

Ciao e buon divertimento
